How to Recover Deleted Bookmarks on Google Chrome

Web browsers have a long-standing feature that allows users to save their favorite web pages or the most visited, then access them with a single click. In some browsers they are still referred to as bookmarks, although in others this feature has been renamed to bookmarks. In any case, it is a function that allows us to save the websites we use the most so that we always have them at hand or to save new sites that we have discovered and that are of interest to us. The problem arises if we carelessly and inadvertently delete them because we might not remember the name of the site. Then we will show you how to recover The Favourites deleted from Google Chrome .

Steps to Recover Deleted Bookmarks from Google Chrome

First of all, you should know that a backup file of our google chrome bookmarks is saved on our hard drive . Therefore, the first thing we are going to do is open a Windows file explorer window and navigate to the path C:UsersusernameAppDataLocalGoogleChromeUserDataDefault . In each case, we need to replace drive C with the letter of the drive where the system is installed and the username with the username of each.

Once there we have to look for two files, one with the name Bookmarks and the other with the same name and the extension .bak. The first contains information about the current bookmarks, while Bookmarks.bak saves a backup of Google Chrome bookmarks. So, there we will have the markers that we have just eliminated without realizing it.

We copy the Bookmarks.bak file and stick it somewhere else, for example on the desk. Then we open the Chrome recovery tool markers (Chrome Bookmarks Recovery Tool) and get the Bookmarks.bak file that you just copied to the desktop. We will automatically see how this tool generates a HTML file containing all our bookmarks, even the ones we deleted, and which we will save on our computer.

Finally, we open a new Google Chrome window and from the browser menu, we let's access French Favorites> Import favorites and settings . This will take us to the browser configuration page and a window will open in which we have to select the option HTML Bookmarks File In drop-down menu, then click on the button Import . This will make all the bookmarks reappear in Google Chrome, even the ones we accidentally deleted. If they don't appear automatically, we close and reopen Google Chrome.
