Overview on farming in plants vs. living dead

If you want to earn money playing Plant vs. Undead, you will need to play farming mode.

Farming in PvU involves planting your own seeds, watering your own and other players' farms, and collecting a resource called Light Energy or LE.

LE can be converted into PVU tokens which can be sold on crypto exchanges.

You can earn LE by harvesting it from your own seeds (once they sprout after a few days), or by completing the daily quest to water other players' plants.

Additionally, the game has just released Farm 2.0, which introduces new game mechanics and new ways to win for all players.

How to start growing plants against undead

Here is a step by step guide on how to start playing farming game mode in Plant vs. Undead.

1. Buy at least 5 PVU tokens

The very first thing you need to start your Plant vs Undead journey is to purchase PVU Tokens.

This is the native cryptocurrency token of the game Plant vs. Undead. PVUs can be purchased from exchanges such as Pancakeswap.

You will need at least 5 PVU tokens in your MetaMask wallet to become a gardener.

Here is a separate guide  on how to buy PVU tokens and transfer them to your MetaMask wallet .

2. Buy BNB tokens

Besides PVU tokens, also make sure you have a few BNB tokens on your wallet.

You can buy BNB tokens from Binance.

This will be used for in-game gasoline charges, as the game runs on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC).

You will pay very minimal fees when you interact and transact with the game.

3. Connect to Plant vs Undead using MetaMask

Once you have enough PVU and BNB tokens in your wallet, it's time to log into the game.

Just go to https://marketplace.plantvsundead.com/farm  and log in using your MetaMask wallet.

4. Go to the Farm PVU tab

Then go to the Farm tab from the Plant vs Undead web app to start playing.

However, there is a good chance that you will get the "Farm maintenance" error.

If so, you will have to wait for your batch processing schedule.

Currently, the game implements a batch scheduling system where players are assigned a prize and each prize can only play for a specific period of time.

This is to avoid server overload if all players are playing the game at the same time.

Here we have a guide to check the current times for each batch .

Unfortunately, there is no way to know which bundle you currently belong to. You just need to come back every hour to see if you can connect.

Once it's your batch's turn and you're able to get into the game, it's time to move on to the next steps to start farming!

5. Convert PVU to LE

You will need to convert your PVU tokens into an in-game resource called Light Energy (LE), as agricultural tools and seeds are purchased using LE, not PVU.

To do this, click on the blue trade button at the top right (which also indicates how many LEs you have).

You can convert with an exchange rate of 1 PVU = 70 LE.

6. Claim your free plots

All players receive free plots of land: 1 slot for a mother tree and 5 slots for plants where you can plant sunflowers.

You can claim it in the "Land" tab in the farm interface.

7. Buy agricultural tools at the store

To buy agricultural tools, go to the Shop by clicking on the pink button on the left.

To start planting sunflowers you will need at least a small pot and 1 set of water that can be used 100 times.

You can also purchase a Scarecrow which will be used to cultivate LE daily (more details below!)

These tools will cost a small amount of LE.

Consulting important:  When purchasing items from the store with LE, make sure you only click the buy button once (i.e. the button with the LE cost)! Sometimes the game lags behind and may cause you to accidentally double-click buttons. This will also complete the transaction multiple times, which is probably not what you want. do not forget to click only once and wait for the user interface to update!

8. Buy sunflower seeds

To buy sunflower seeds, go to the "Sunflower" tab next to "Tools" in the shop.

You can buy a Sunflower Sapling for 100 LE which gives you 250 LE after 3 days, or Sunflower Mama for 200 LE which gives you 850 LE after 6 days.

Another option is to play with the Sun Box for 100 LE which gives you a chance to get the following:

  • 30% to drop 100x water and 20x scarecrows
  • 30% to drop 2x small pots
  • 30% to drop 1x sunflower sapling
  • 9.9% for dropping 1x Sunflower Mom
  • 0,1% to drop 1x seed

Again, don't forget to click once when purchasing from the store.

9. Plant sunflowers on your farm and water them

Once you have purchased a few seeds and a few watering tools, you are now ready to plant your sunflower!

Simply go back to your Land tab or click on the green "plus" icon in the top left, next to your PVU token number.

Select an available land, then click on the Sunflower tab, then select a sunflower you want to plant (either a Young Sunflower or a Sunflower Mum).

Go back to your farm and you will see the new plant with an “Add a pot to start growing” label.

Click on the location of the plant and click on the "Use" button next to the pot.

Water your plant twice by also clicking the "Use" button next to the watering can icon.

10. Water other players' plants and chase crows

Your sunflowers will take a few days to fully grow where you can harvest a huge amount of LE.

While waiting for your sunflowers to ripen, you can complete other players' daily plant care quest.

Click on the third “green” icon on the left to access the territory map. Here you can click on any plot to visit other players' farms and see plants growing on their land.

You can then select plants to water for a small chance of getting young sunflower sprouts:

  • When the number of water is between 0 and 19: 10% to bring down 1 sunflower tree.
  • When the number of water is between 20 and 39: 9% to drop 1 sunflower plant.
  • When the number of water is between 40 and 59: 8% to drop 1 x sapling of sunflower.
  • When the number of water is between 60 and 79: 7% to drop 1 sapling of sunflower.
  • When the number of water is between 80 and 99: 6% to drop 1 sapling of sunflower.
  • When the number of water is between 100 or more, there will be no fall of saplings.

This means that you should look for plants where the water count is as low as possible.

You can water up to 15 times a day to get 50 LE.

There is also a small chance that crows appear on the plot. You can hunt them using scary crows for a 10% chance of dropping two young sunflower sprouts.

10. Harvest the light energy of your sunflowers

Once your sunflowers have reached their full growth, it's time to harvest their light energies!

Just go to your farm and harvest your sunflowers one by one, or click the Harvest All button at the top right.

Once harvested, you can “Remove” the land so that you can plant another plant on that location.

How to water plants in Plant vs. Undead

Along with planting and harvesting sunflowers, you should also help grow other players' crops by watering them and chasing crows.

This will help them harvest their plants early and keep the in-game economy running.

Here's how to water the plants in Plant vs. Undead.

Simply click on a plant location, then click "Use" next to the watering can icon.

There is also a small chance that crows appear on the plot. You can hunt them using scary crows for a 10% chance of dropping two young sunflower sprouts.

Here's a very complete guide on how to find crows and scare them away .

You can water up to 15 times a day to get 50 LE, and you can scare crows up to 5 times a day.
