How to troubleshoot webpage identity verification issues

It is very likely that at some point we encountered an error message stating that the identity of a website or the integrity of the connection cannot be verified when trying to open a webpage. . This is a window that the system itself shows us to warn us that some problems were encountered during the verifying the identity of a web page .

This message may be displayed to us when the digital certificate site has expired or been revoked, the certificate details do not match, or the certificate issuing authority is not trusted.

It is possible to disable identity verification for a specific web page

In addition to the message, three options are available to us, Yes, No or View certificate . If this is a site that we visit frequently and trust them, then we may click the Yes option to indicate that we trust even though their identity cannot be verified. In case we are trying to visit an unknown site, the best thing to do is click on the No option, while we can select the View Certificate option if we want to check the details and decide if we want to continue or do not.

If we want to disable this message, we can also do that by following the steps below. The first thing to do is to open the control panel and access Internet options. Once there we go to the Advanced options tab and in the list of configuration options we go down to the security options.

There you have to look for the options Check if the publisher's certificate has been revoked et Check if the server certificate has been revoked and uncheck them . Finally, click on Apply and from that point on, the message will no longer be displayed when verifying the identity of a web page.

The truth is, this is not a very effective measure, as we will not be notified of possible sites that are not very secure, therefore another option is to keep this setting enabled but disable it for a specific site. as we show below.

From the Internet properties window itself, we switch from the Advanced options tab to the Safety and mark the option Trusted sites . Then click on the button Sites and add the website for which we want to turn off the site identity verification message, as this is a trusted website that we already know about. We save the changes and from that point on we will no longer see the error screen when visiting this web page, but we will see other unsafe sites.
