Google Chrome receives new themes and new customization options
The web browser is probably one of the apps we spend the most time on. Therefore, one of the things that users ask for is to have control over this browser and be able to customize it so that they feel as comfortable with it as possible. With Google Chrome 69 , the company introduced the first customization options on the browser's home page, although Google wanted to go further from the start. Now with Google Chrome 77 we can see new customization options improved for the browser.
Although Google only allows changing the background of the homepage of Google Chrome , the company will now allow the browser to have more control over the background, easily customize the buttons that appear on this homepage and, in addition, has included new themes that configure the same color, in different shades, both on the page by home and on the browser as such.
This is how these new Google Chrome customization options work.
How to activate Google Chrome's new personalization options
The first thing to keep in mind is that in order to test these new customization options the first thing to do is to install the version Canary Google Chrome, the development version of the browser, installed on our computer .
The new themes for the homepage and the new browser customization options are still in the experimental phase, so to test them we will have to activate them manually from the flags browser. We can write the following lines in the address bar and mark each option as "Enabled":

We restart the browser and the new Chrome customization options will already be enabled and we can start testing them.
How Google Chrome's new themes and customization options work
When we open a new tab, we can see the popular Google search page. In the lower right part we will see the customization button that we have seen for a long time in the stable version of the browser but when we press it we can see that a new panel appears with new options.
The first thing we will see is the possibility of choosing one of the many funds that Google offers us to personalize the browser. We can also upload our own background and even leave it blank, with the characteristic Google look.
The second of the options (which as we can see, the name in Spanish is not well adjusted, in English it is called "Shortcuts") will allow us to control the functioning of the fast accesses of the websites, being able to create our clean, see the most visited pages or hide them directly.
Finally, the most interesting customization option is " Color and theme ». This option allows us to configure a colored background on the homepage of Google Chrome and, in addition, it will assign a color theme to the rest of the browser so that everything is in perfect harmony.
For the time being, Google offers 4 themes for Chrome that we can apply just by clicking on it. We hope that when this feature reaches the rest of the users, we will have a choice of more possible combinations.
After a very long wait, we are finally seeing progress in personalizing the Google Chrome home page. At the moment, we don't know when this feature will reach the stable version, although it should be in two versions i.e. in Google Chrome 77 , which should follow the schedule after the summer.
