How mute the whole group of WhatsApp even if you mention
Whatsapp has introduces the possibility of doing silence groups and discussions forever months ago, giving users one of the options they have been asking for the longest.
What WhatsApp does not yet offer is the ability to do completely silence a group, even avoiding displaying notifications of messages in which we are mentioned. Fortunately, it is possible to get around this restriction with a very simple trick.

Deactivate a WhatsApp group forever
To can deactivate all notifications for a group, it is first necessary to deactivate this group to prevent messages from displaying notifications. To do this, it's very simple, since you just need to follow these steps:
- Open the WhatsApp application on your mobile.
- Open the group you want to deactivate.
- Tap the three dot icon in the upper right corner.
- In the options menu, tap "Mute notifications".
- Choose the "Always" option and uncheck the "Show notifications" option.
That's all. From now on, WhatsApp will no longer notify you of new messages received in this group. However, it will send you notifications of messages in which another participant has mentioned you.
Disable group mentions on WhatsApp
To avoid that even mentions in groups can you bother, you can perform a simple process. It consists of silencing group participants individually. This way you just have to open chat with each participant in a group and silence notifications by following the same steps in the previous section.
This way when WhatsApp checks if there are new messages in a group, if it detects that a message includes a mention for you, it will check if the individual chat with this person is cut. If that is the case, it will not display notifications.
