Instagram and Facebook Messenger are updated big with new topics, visual responses and much more
A new update is on the way for the apps Instagram and Facebook Messenger for iOS and Android. On this occasion, the new version introduces major novelties such as new themes, the possibility of archiving chats, send visual responses and more.
The update was announced by the company itself on its official blog, where are gathered all the news which Facebook Messenger and Instagram * users can take advantage of from today.
New Star Wars and Selena Gomez themes on Facebook Messenger
The first big news accompanying this update focuses on Facebook Messenger. And now users can choose two new themes to personalize their cats, inspired by Star Wars and the Netflis series "Selena: The Series".
In addition to this, new stickers were introduced to celebrate the diversity and impact of the peoples of Asia and the Pacific Islands. These stickers are available in Messenger and Messenger Kids.
Visual responses in Instagram direct messages
now Instagram will give the possibility to reply to direct messages with other photos or videos, thanks to the function that the company has dubbed “visual responses”.
This function, for now, only available on iOS, although they assure that it will arrive soon on Android.
On the other hand, the possibility of make hands-free voice recordings pressing the microphone button before sending an audio message from Facebook Messenger is now included. You no longer need to let your finger touch the icon while recording.
Archived chats and read receipts in inbox
For the first time, Facebook Messenger now allows you to send chats to the archive, in order to have a cleaner inbox. To do this, you just need to do drag a cat to the left until it disappears from the inbox.
In addition, on Instagram it is now possible to see if someone else has read our direct message without having to access the chat: the read confirmation will be displayed directly in the conversation list.
