Axie Esports 2021 - Send us your event proposals! - by Axie Infinity

  • To support this implementation, We pledge 5 AXS ($ 000) from the game allowance pool to win cash prizes for community tournaments that will take place this year.
  • We will be accepting event proposals July 15-29 from community tournament organizers and post a schedule for the rest of the year, after approving selected events.

Greetings Lunacianos!

Exciting times continue in the world of Axie Infinity as we continue to see unprecedented growth and many new faces enter the community.

This excitement also translated into Axie's competitive scene. More community members mobilized to organize their own local events; Likewise, we have received more event sponsorship requests than ever before.

However, this amazing growth has created new challenges when it comes to evolving our game servers. As a result, the challenge server which is generally available for games and tournaments has gone offline.

As our team of developers continue to work hard to evolve, we will also be implementing dedicated servers specifically for esports events in the coming months. This will provide greater stability to our tournament organizers in these turbulent times of hypergrowth. We hope that the challenge server will be back online as usual by the end of the year.

To support the implementation of this dedicated server eSports , we are hiring 5 AXS ($ 145) from the Games Allocation Fund to win prizes for community tournaments taking place this year.

We have big plans for 2022 and beyond when it comes to Axie esports and creator programs, but in the meantime we need more help from the community!

We need you to send us your event proposals for the rest of 2021 and explain in the most convincing way possible why your event deserves this support!

Proposals will be accepted from:

July 15, 2021 - July 29, 2021

The proposed events must take place between:

August 6, 2021 - November 30, 2021

Event proposals should include:

  • Schedule details such as dates, times, number of days, duration.
  • Format details such as: open or by invitation, media type, platform.
  • Prize pool request and distribution strategy.
  • Information on other sponsors or partners of the event.
  • Logistical information on event management and operations plan.
  • Broadcast plan, which languages, which channels, who broadcasts.
  • Audience estimates, input estimates, unique items.
  • Marketing strategy, social media, how will people know about your event?
  • What are the key factors that will make your event a success?
  • What other successful events or tournaments have you held in the past?

Other considerations:

  • Sometimes less is more; focus on short, executable events rather than long leagues.
  • Don't try to do too much with each event; focus on offering the best possible quality, rather than the widest possible reach.
  • You can submit multiple events or dates, but our goal is to spread support to multiple organizers.
  • The date ranges are excellent! We'll do our best to accommodate requests for specific dates when we can, but be prepared to be flexible when it comes to scheduling!

ESports server limitations:

  • The esports server will require a whitelist to access it.
  • This means that for each tournament we will ask the event organizer to send a finalized list of all participants and their Axie account email addresses at least 24 hours before the start of the event.
  • If you do not submit a complete list of participants, some players may not have access to the server.
  • Due to the manual nature of this whitelisting process, we encourage all tournament organizers to consider ways to limit the scope of their events by region, time zone, ranking, or other relevant metric.

Final thoughts:

We will review all event proposals submitted by August 6, 2021 with the aim of developing a master schedule for the next four months.

Our team plans to schedule around 10 events during this four month period, with the goal of spreading AXS across multiple regions and skill levels.

We're thrilled to hear from all of the Axie community members who have been thinking about hosting a tournament this year and posting a clear schedule of upcoming events!

Of course, we will not be able to respond to all proposals and we want to remind everyone that there will be many more opportunities like this in the future.

Don't be discouraged if we are unable to accommodate your event plans in this cycle. This is just the start of what we have in store and we are excited to continue to grow together. There is still a lot more to come.

Remember: it's a marathon, not a sprint!
