Guide to Breeding Dragons: How to Get Eggs & Increase Rarity

Dragonary is a win-win game where players breed, breed, and battle dragons to earn in-game resources and currency tokens (CYT) .

The best part about this game is that anyone can start playing right away for free - all players get a starting squad of 3 common dragons.

Earn more by holding more rare dragons

If you want to increase the in-game rewards you get each day, you will need to increase the rarity level of your account by owning more dragons with higher rarity. Check out our full guide on how much you can earn here .

You can do this by breeding and merging dragons to get new eggs. Depending on several factors, this new Dragon offspring may have a higher rarity than its parents.

Breeding vs Fusion of Dragons in Dragonary

In Dragonary, there are two ways to breed dragons: create eggs or fuse rare dragons.

You can raise two dragons common ou little common to create new eggs.

Lagrasse is the perfect setting for dragons rares , epic et legendary , you can merge five (5) and get a new egg.

Dragons used as fodder for Fusion will be sacrificed and be gone forever, but you will get a new one with higher rarity and higher base stats.

Dragon Fusion will maintain a deflationary economy in the game and prevent an oversupply of Dragons which can cause market prices to drop.

How to create eggs by breeding dragons in Dragonary

Here is a step by step guide on how to breed Common or Uncommon Dragons to get new eggs.

1. Upgrade your dragons to 50% of their maximum level

The first requirement for breeding common and uncommon dragons is to upgrade them to become adults.

A dragon becomes an adult when it reaches 50% of its maximum level:

  • Common Dragon - Max Level 20
  • Uncommon Dragon - Max Level 40

This means that only common dragons of at least level 10 or uncommon dragons of at least level 20 can be used to raise new eggs.

You can upgrade your dragons by taking part in PVE missions such as story missions or embers quests to earn embers and obsidian.

2. Collect sparks and turn them into embers

To breed common and uncommon dragons, embers are also required.

Embers can be obtained by merging five (5) Sparks of the same element.

Sparks can be cultivated by completing one of the seven Ember quests, each with a different element.

The embers used in breeding determines your dragon's element, so be sure to farm the right element if you have a desired element for your new dragon.

Once you've collected at least five sparks of the same item, you can merge them by going to Cave> Forge.

Simply slide the Sparks into the fuse slot and click "Fuse."

3. Add CYT tokens to your game account

Breeding common and uncommon dragons in Dragonary requires you to spend a small amount of Currency Tokens (CYT).

The amount of CYT required depends on the rarity of the dragon and how many times it has been used to spawn before.

See the next section below for the CYT cost chart per dragon rarity and high egg count.

4. Go to the cave, then to the altar

Once you have prepared all the materials and costs for breeding your dragons, all you need to do is head to the Caves then the Autel .

Make sure you are on the Create Eggs tab.

5. Select your dragons and add the embers

To select the dragons you want to breed, simply drop them on the top two slots.

You will then see the expected statistics of the resulting egg at the bottom.

Remember the elemental embers you forged earlier? They should appear on the right side of the user interface.

You can slide an ember to the slot at the bottom.

This will then show you the resulting elemental percentages of the resulting dragon egg.

6. Click Create Egg

Congratulations! You have successfully bred two dragons and created a new egg ready to hatch within hours.

Cost of breeding common dragons

Here are the CYT costs for breeding Common Dragons:

Eggs raised Price
0 5CYT
1 10CYT
2 20CYT
3 30CYT
4 40CYT
5+ 50CYT

If the resulting Dragon is of a higher rarity (Uncommon), the CYT cost will be multiplied by 1,5.

Cost of breeding unusual dragons

Here are the CYT costs for breeding unusual dragons:

Eggs raised Price
0 50CYT
1 70CYT
2 90CYT
3 110CYT
4 130CYT
5+ 150CYT

If the resulting Dragon is of a higher rarity (Rare), the CYT cost will be multiplied by 2.

For example, if you are breeding two common dragons that have never spawned before, you will need 10 CYT.

But if you breed two unusual dragons that have spawned once before, the price is 2 x 70 CYT = 140 CYT.

How long does an egg hatch?

The time it takes for an egg to incubate and hatch into a dragon depends on its rarity:

  • Common: 3 hours
  • Uncommon: 12 hours
  • Rare: 24 hours
  • Epic: 48 hours
  • Legendary: 96 hours
  • Mythic: One week

The incubation period only applies to common, uncommon and rare eggs.

In Epic, Legendary, and Mythic Mergers, the resulting dragons will be immediately visible. But they will not be available until the end of the growing period.

How to increase the rarity of dragons by breeding

Dragonary's dragons have three stat attributes: Strength, Cunning, and Resistance.

The total of these three stat points determines a dragon's rarity.

To increase the rarity of Common / Uncommon Dragons by breeding, the total stats of the new dragon must reach a certain amount.

To the dragons common , total statistics must reach 50 or more to increase the rarity to Uncommon. In this case, the CYT cost will increase by 1,5 times.

Lagrasse is the perfect setting for dragons little common, total statistics must reach 90 or more to increase the rarity to Rare. In this case, the CYT cost will increase by 2 times.

Here is an example. Let's say you have two common Dragons, Dragon A and Dragon B.

If they spawn, the resulting egg is Dragon C and his stats will be increased by 20% over the average for Dragon A and B.

If you spawn Dragons A and B again to hatch Dragon D, its stats will also be increased by 20% (almost the same as Dragon C).

Now if you breed Dragon C and Dragon D it will give Dragon E which will have stats increased by 20% compared to the average stats of its parents, Dragon C and D.

You can continue this cycle until you breed Dragons where the total of its three stats reaches 50 (for Rare) or 90 (for Rare).
