How to use Telegram on Android without installing the app

Telegram is an application that can be used on any platform. There are applications official and unofficial for Android, iOS and iPadOS. Of course, Telegram is also available for Mac, Windows and Linux. The fact that it is cross-platform and works in the cloud is a clear advantage of this instant messaging service over WhatsApp.

Although its native apps are available in the respective official stores, Telegram can be installed in so as a progressive web application (PWA). If we choose this method of use, we save space and resources. This is especially important on lower midrange phones. We show you how to use Telegram on Android without installing the app.

Use Telegram without installing any apps

  1. First of all, open Chrome and go to web.telegram.com. Once inside, you will be able to verify that the appearance of the interface is very similar to that of the native application.
  2. Next, tap on the three-dot menu in the upper left corner and select the Add to Home screen option. In the pop-up window, tap Add. That will install Telegram Web as if it were an application.
  3. Once the process is complete, you can access the app drawer on your device to verify that everything worked as expected. If you open multitasking, you can verify that the app is running as a stand-alone app. The last step is to enter your identifiers to access the service.

What are the advantages of using a web application like Telegram's? Progressive web apps support most of the features of the native app. For example, they fully support notifications and have an interface that adapts to any environment. As we said, they are great for low performing devices or if we don't have enough space in our storage.
